REDWOOD FALLS – Services for Harlan J. Whipple, 72, of Redwood Falls will be at 5 p.m. Tuesday at the Lower Sioux Community Center with visitation from 3-5 p.m. Visitation will continue on Wednesday at noon at the Oyanke Community Center in Santee, Neb. Services will be held again at 1 p.m. in Santee. Burial is in the Most Merciful Savior Episcopal Cemetery in Santee, Neb. Stephens Funeral Service – Redwood Valley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
He died Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, at Sunwood Good Samaritan Care Center in Redwood Falls.
He was born May 20, 1940, in Pine Ridge, S.D., to Rev. Christian B. and Ester (Harlan) Whipple.
He was a member of the U.S. Navy for 20 years and served in the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his wife Dottie Whipple of Redwood Falls; his sister Blanche (Jack) Zembower of Denver, Colo., children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends.
