Education briefs for Jan. 30
Marshall School District project showcased at state conference
The Marshall School District’s Project T.I.G.E.R.S.S. for kindergarten was featured at the Minnesota School Boards Association’s annual Leadership Conference Jan. 17 at the Minneapolis Convention Center. The district was part of the conference’s Show and Tell event, which highlights some of the state’s unique and outstanding programs in education.
The goal of Project T.I.G.E.R.S.S. (Technology Integration Generating Education and Real Student Success) is to develop and implement a personalized learning kindergarten classroom. This allows students to select a topic of interest, which is then integrated into a learning plan developed for them. The students’ curriculum is based around their personal interests.
Through this method, children will feel vested in their learning allowing them to have a say in their education, collaborate with others, develop a “can do” attitude and show their creativity while using technology to reach their full potential.
