MARSHALL – Mass of Christian Burial for Terrie McCoss, 35, of Marshall, formerly of Dell Rapids, S.D., will be at 12:30 p.m. Friday at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service today at Hamilton Funeral Home in Marshall. Visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to the mass. Burial will be in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Dell Rapids, S.D.
She died Monday, Feb. 18, 2013, as a result of a motor vehicle accident near Granite Falls.
Terrie Lynn was born May 13, 1977, in Dell Rapids, S.D., to James and Shirley (Bunkers) Wolles. She was baptized, received First Communion and was confirmed at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Dell Rapids. Terrie grew up in Dell Rapids and graduated from St. Mary High School. Following high school, she attended college at Northern State University in Aberdeen, S.D., and the University of Minnesota, graduating with music therapy degree. Upon graduation, Terrie worked for Augustana Care Corporation in Minnetonka as the assistant activities director.
On June 25, 2005, Terrie was united in marriage to David James McCoss in Marshall. To this union a daughter was born, namely Josie. Terrie began employment as the music therapist and activities director at the Granite Falls Manor in May 2006. She was a board certified music therapist, an accomplished pianist and an outstanding vocal performer.
Terrie is survived by her loving husband Dave and daughter, Josie of Marshall; two stepchildren Megan (and Mike) Weber and Garrett McCoss; stepgrandchildren, Maddie and Tanner Weber; parents, Jim and Shirley Wolles of Dell Rapids; seven siblings, Lisa (and Lance) Buechler of Tualatin, Ore., Diane (and John) Thomas of Sioux Falls, S.D., Karen (and Jerry) Steffen of Cresco, Iowa, Peggy (and Chad) McGuire of Sioux Falls, Nancy (and Paul) Shellum of Garretson, S.D., Robert (and Sherri) and Tony (and Brenda) Wolles of Dell Rapids; father and mother-in-law, Douglas and Karen McCoss of Granite Falls; also many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Terrie was preceded in death by her stepson, Clint McCoss and grandparents.
Terrie will be remembered as a devoted wife and mother, her love for people and her continual smiling face.
