MINNEAPOLIS – Services for Frances Elizabeth Dirckx Galle, 75, will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Basilica of St. Mary (St. Joseph’s Chapel), 88 N. 17th St. Private burial is in Fort Snelling national Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum, 3675 Arboretum Drive, Chaska, MN 55318.
She died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013, peacefully surrounded by family.
She was born Oct. 11, 1937, in Tracy.
Fran grew up in Marshall. Graduated from Central Catholic High School and received her RN degree from St. Gabriel’s School of Nursing in Little Falls in 1958. She was a longtime nurse at The University of Minnesota. Bill and Fran retired to Las Vegas in 1998. Fran loved to travel, eat and go for long walks; and will be missed and remembered by family and friends.
Survivors include her loving husband, William “Bill” Galle; daughter, Roshawn Sook (and Gil); sons, Christopher (and Louise), Michael (and Elizabeth), Nicholas (and Elizabeth), and Matthew (and Kristina) Galle; grandchildren, Brianna, Lucas and Sasha Sook, Mazie, William, Acacia, Eleanor, Lauren, Benjamin and Jack Galle; and sister, Patricia Bergonzi (and John).
She was preceded in death by father, Louis; mother, Elizabeth; brother, Bruce Dirckx, and four infant sisters.
