SCD to sponsor Lenten lunches Thursdays
The Slayton Catholic Daughters will sponsor a luncheon each Thursday from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at St. Ann’s Church, Divine Mercy Hall, Slayton. The menu includes sandwiches, salads and desserts. Carryouts are available by calling 507-836-8030. Thursday’s lunch will include hot turkey sandwiches.
Soup and Sermon Wednesdays at Christ United
Ecumenical Soup and Sermon is every Wednesday during Lent at Christ United Presbyterian Church. Soup is served at 11:45 a.m. and the sermon is delivered at 12:05 p.m. The event is sponsored by the Marshall Area Ministerial Association.
DivorceCare sessions start Monday at Marshall E-Free
DivorceCare will again be offered from 7-9 p.m. at Marshall Evangelical Free Church, 410 Airport Road, Marshall beginning Monday. DivorceCare is a Christ-centered, Bible-based DVD series of seven to eight weeks for those who are divorced or separated. Alumni, or anyone divorced or separated, are invited to attend. Each 40-minute video is followed by discussion time. The cost of the workbook is $15. (Scholarships are available.) There is no other charge for the sessions. CDA meeting Monday at Hill Street
Catholic Daughters will have a “Come and See” at their meeting at 5:30 p.m. Monday at Hill Street. Mass is at 6:30 p.m., also at Hill Street, with lunch following the Mass. If you have ever wondered about becoming a Catholic Daughter, this is your opportunity. You may attend by yourself or ask any Catholic Daughter if she would bring you to the meeting. The Rev. Paul Wolf will speak about Sacramentals.
Thailand presentation Sunday at Bethel
Tom Nomeland will do a slide show presentation at 6 p.m. Sunday at Bethel Fellowship Church in Minneota of his recent missions trip to Thailand and Myanmar/Burma. He visited orphanages, churches and encouraged pastors and church people in those countries. The economics and culture of these countries is very different from the United States’.
