David R. Sullivan
LAGUNA WOODS, Calif. – Former Marshall resident David Ramlow Sullivan, 80, passed away after a brief illness on March 19, 2013, with family at his side in Laguna Woods, Calif.
David was born Nov. 8, 1932, in Green Bay, Wis., to R. Donald and Gertrude (Ramlow) Sullivan. He spent his childhood in the Twin Cities where he received a degree in architecture from the University of Minnesota.
David and his wife, Nancy, moved to Marshall in 1964 prior to the construction of Southwest Minnesota State College. David designed many buildings in southwest Minnesota and South Dakota including the family’s home in Westwood Acres.
David was an avid sports car enthusiast and race car driver and participated in many racing events at Brainerd International Raceway and at Road America.
He is survived by his wife Nancy, brother Donald (and Ruth Patricia), son Brian (and Diane), daughter Erin (and Mike) Mugnai; grandchildren Nicholas and Natalie Mugnai; and former Dutch foreign exchange student/son Wim van Immerzeel.
