SHAKOPEE – Services for Allen L. Frahm, 72, of Shakopee, formerly of Marshall, will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at McNearney Funeral Home, 1220 East Third Avenue, Shakopee. Officiating is the Reverend Dennis Ingolfsland. Interment with military honors will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis. Visitation is from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at McNearney Funeral Home. Allen would have preferred donations to the Salvation Army in lieu of flowers.

He died Sunday March 31, 2013, in Bradenton, Fla.

Al was born on Dec. 23, 1940, in Michigan City, Ind., to Leroy “Bud” and Ruth (Hall) Frahm. Allen spent the 1960s in the United States Navy serving on the U.S.S. Intrepid and the U.S.S. Enterprise. While going through the Navy’s electronics school near Memphis, Tenn., Allen met Mary Jeannette Clement whom he married on Nov. 16, 1962.

Allen Started working in his grandfather’s garage as a child and spent the rest of his career fixing whatever broke. He worked on anything from kid’s toys to high tech electronics for the military and everything in between. Most days in the summer Al could be found in the garage with his pipe and coffee keeping on top of the news. Winters were spent in Florida where he enjoyed walking on the beach and driving in his convertible.

Allen is survived by his wife, Mary Jeannette Frahm; children, Michael Frahm and wife Amy, Aaron Frahm and wife Anna and Cynthia Frahm; and grandchildren, Valita, Ruth, Bryan, Joe and Mark.

Allen was preceded in death by his parents Bud and Ruth Frahm.
