TRACY – Services for Ronald D. Nelson, 79, of Tracy will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Tracy Lutheran Church. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at the Almlie Funeral Home of Tracy, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. and continuing one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Burial will be in the Tracy City Cemetery, with a luncheon served immediately following the burial. The Almlie Funeral Home of Tracy is in charge of the arrangements.
He died Tuesday, April 9, 2013, at Prairie View Health Care Center in Tracy.
He was born June 25, 1933, to Arnold and Evelyn (Karl) Nelson on a farm south of Garvin, Murray County. In June of 1953, he entered into the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War until his honorable discharge on May 16, 1955, with the rank of Corporal.
Survivors include his daughter, Cynthia “Cindy” Burt of Colman, S.D.; four grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; two brothers, Milan “Mike” of Cape Coral, Fla. and Larry of Sparks, Nev.
