HUTCHINSON – Services for Rhonda Boe, 53, of Hutchinson, formerly of Cottonwood, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 27, at the Dobratz-Hantge Chapel in Hutchinson, with a family interment in St. Rose of Lima Catholic Cemetery in Avoca at a later date. There will be a Gathering of Family and Friends one hour prior to the service at the chapel on Saturday. Arrangements by the Dobratz-Hantge Chapel in Hutchinson.
She died Tuesday, April 9, 2013, in beautiful Indian Wells, Calif., while on vacation.
Rhonda Sue Boe was born Sept. 30, 1959, in Slayton to Ralph and Frances (Thraen) Thedans. Rhonda received her elementary education in Avoca and attended Slayton High School in Slayton.
In 1980, Rhonda was united in marriage to Dean Qunell in Watertown, S.D. This marriage was blessed with three children, Jamie, Kristi and Katie. Rhonda and Dean lived in Amiret.
Later in life, Rhonda was united in marriage to Kim Boe at the Yellow Medicine Lutheran Church in Hanley Falls. Rhonda and Kim resided in Cottonwood. Rhonda moved to Hutchinson in 2009.
Rhonda held employment at various jobs; most recently she worked at the Oaks and Pines Assisted Living in Hutchinson. Rhonda was a member of the USBC bowling league of Hutchinson.
Rhonda’s family was her life. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, siblings and her Yorkies, Sophie and Lola. Working with the elderly also gave Rhonda great joy. She loved going on trips, to concerts, casinos, bowling and sitting around campfires with friends and family. Lastly she was a great Vikings Fan, especially #69, Jared Allen.
Survivors include her children, Jamie Qunell and special friend, Marissa Herbon of Maple Plain, Kristi Timm and husband, Ryan of Hutchinson, Katie Varpness and husband, Jeremy of Cottonwood; grandchildren, Rylee, Kaitlyn, Toryn, Ashton, Austin, Dylan, Ryan and Baby Varpness due in October; sisters, Sharon Crowley and husband, Jim of Granite Falls, Janet Pequin and husband, Gene of Marshall, Sandy Nuy and husband, John of Algona, Iowa; brothers, David Thedans and wife, Janice of Pasadena, Md., Dennis Thedans of Sioux Falls, S.D., Kevin Thedans and Julie of Lafayette, Ind., Jerome Thedans and wife, Lisa of Windom; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; and her little girls – her Yorkies – Sofie and Lola.
Rhonda was preceded in death by her Parents, Ralph and Frances Thedans; sisters, Cheryle Sincock, Marcella Scotting and Mary Oakland; and brothers, Gary Thedans and Mark Thedans.
She will be dearly missed.
