Falcon baseball team earns win over Wildcats

A 3-for-4 day at the plate for senior Henry Rogotzke helped propel the Red Rock Central/Westbrook-Walnut Grove baseball team to a 9-6 victory over Southwestern United Saturday at Heron Lake in the Falcons’ Red Rock Conference opener.

RRC/WWG scored eight of its runs in the final two innings of the game, including five in the sixth.

Brady Bierl struck out 15 batters in a complete-game victory for the Falcons. He allowed seven hits and four walks. Four of Southwestern United’s six runs were earned.

Thomas Blomgren went 1-for-3 with two RBIs for the RRC/WWG, and Rogotzke and Dillion Benson each had a double.

The Falcons improve to 1-1 overall and 1-0 in conference play after the victory. They will host Murray County Central on Tuesday.
