WABASSO – Services for Alvin Hirsch will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Wabasso. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at the church with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services on Tuesday. Burial is in St. Anne’s Catholic Cemetery. Stephens Funeral Service – Redwood Valley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
He died, Friday May 3, 2013, of natural causes.
He was born on May 28, 1933, in Wabasso, to Francis and Gladys (Eichten) Hirsch. After graduation he enlisted in the United States Navy serving 4 years during the Korean War. He received an honorable discharge in 1955. Survivors include his wife Kay; children: Karen Folkman of Morris, Robert Hirsch of Prairie Village, Kan., and Patrick Hirsch of Lee’s Summit, Mo.; four grandchildren; siblings: Richard of Tampa, Fla., Patricia Rue of Carlos, Rita Schatz of Maple Grove, Mark of Wabasso, Mike of Grant, Neb., Elaine Wurscher of Billings, Mont., and Joleen Olson of Eden Prairie.
