Patrol: Man dies from medical condition in crash

An Upper Sioux Community man is dead and two other people injured after a one-vehicle crash on Minnesota Highway 67 on Saturday, the Upper Sioux Police Department said.

About 9:45 a.m. Saturday, a van driven by Brent Earl Anderson, 62, of the Upper Sioux Community was westbound on Highway 67 when it left the roadway and rolled over a steep embankment on the south side of the highway, Upper Sioux Police said. Anderson apparently suffered a medical emergency at the wheel and lost consciousness, Police said.

Anderson was pronounced dead at the scene, and two passengers in the van, both elderly women, were taken to the Granite Falls hospital with minor injuries, Police said.

The crash is under investigation by the Upper Sioux Police and the Minnesota State Patrol.

The Granite Falls Fire Department, Granite Falls Ambulance and the Yellow Medicine County Sheriff’s Department also responded at the scene.
