A three-run home run from TJ Stoel in the bottom of the seventh inning lifted Central Minnesota Christian to a 5-4 comeback win over Russell-Tyler-Ruthton in a Camden Conference baseball game Monday in Prinsburg.

Russell-Tyler-Ruthton pitcher Alex Schwing gave up two runs in the first inning but had held the Bluejays scoreless the next five innings before Stoel ended the game with his walk-off blast. Schwing allowed five runs (three earned) on seven hits with six walks and four strikeouts.

Shay Wabeke had two of RTR’s five hits and also stole two bases.

At 7-3 overall, RTR will wrap up its regular season today in Lamberton with a game against Red Rock Central/Westbrook-Walnut Grove.

Springfield 10, Wabasso 0

Springfield pitcher Isaac Kirschstein tossed a four-hit shutout to lead the Tigers to a 10-0 win over Wabasso in six innings Monday in a Tomahawk Conference game played in Milroy.

The Rabbits (11-4 overall) begin postseason play Saturday. As the No. 2 seed in the Section 3A-South tournament, the Rabbits will host the winner between Tracy-Milroy-Balaton and Southwestern United at 11 a.m. Saturday in Milroy.

Tracy-Milroy-Balaton’s Beau Priegnitz continued a strong freshman campaign with a solid effort at the plate and on the mound Monday in a game against Canby in Milroy. Priegnitz struck out 10 batters and gave up just two hits in a 4-1 win over the Lancers. He also went 2-for-3 at the plate.

Canby scored first in the third inning. TMB’s Parker Lanoue had a game-tying RBI single in the fifth , which was followed by a go-ahead hit by Jordan Lanoue.

The Panthers (10-4 overall, 7-2 Camden) open the Section 3A tournament Wednesday with a pigtail game against Southwestern United in Milroy.

Vikings finish strong

The Minneota/Lincoln HI baseball team wrapped up the regular season with a pair of home wins Monday. The Vikings defeated Lakeveiw 13-7 to start the day, then beat Mountain Lake Area 10-5.

The Vikings open the Section 3A tournament Saturday in Raymond against Central Minnesota Christian.

Sleepy Eye downs Wabasso in home dual

The Sleepy Eye boys’ and girls’ golf teams both easily defeated Wabasso in a home dual.

The Sleepy Eye girls finished with a team score of 188 to Wabasso’s 223. Emily Curtis and Lauren Laffen shared medalist honors with a 42. Wabasso was led by Briana Jenniges, who fired a 45.

Caleb Christensen was the medalist on the boys’ side, leading Sleepy Eye with a 41. His team shot a 177. Wabasso fired a team score of 220, led by Kyle Campbell’s 48.
