SARTELL – A Mass of Christian Burial for Thomas DuBois Hasbrouck, 84, of Sartell, will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Sartell. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Parish prayers will be at 10:15 a.m. at the church Saturday. Burial will be in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Sartell. Funeral arrangements were made by Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud.
He died Saturday, May 25, 2013, at his home.
Tom was born March 10, 1929, in Beardsley to Bert and Mary (Woodley) Hasbrouck. The family then moved to Marshall, where Tom attended school and graduated in 1948 from Marshall High School. After spending two years in college at St. Cloud State University he joined the US Air Force on Dec. 31, 1951; was at Lackland Air Force base in San Antonio, Texas, for four years, was honorably discharged as a Staff Sergeant on Dec. 31, 1955. He went back to SCSU and graduated June 7, 1957, with a BS in English. Tom was married on June 8, 1957, to Barbara Julienne Blanchette. He taught school for four years and then worked for Bladholm Bros. Culvert Company for 30 years. Tom enjoyed reading, music, telling stories, the Vikings but, mostly, he just liked spending time with his family and friends.
Tom is survived by his wife, Barb; his three sons: Thomas of Danbury, Wis., Michael (Sue Linn) of Sauk Rapids and Mark of St. Cloud; seven grandchildren, Ellyse, Dylan, Zachary, Drew, Jacob, Anna, and Maia, and his siblings Sr. Mary Hasbrouck, CSJ, and Bert Hasbrouck.
