A walk-off wild pitch in the bottom of the seventh inning allowed Central Minnesota Christian to sneak past Lakeview for a 5-4 win in an elimination game of the Section 3A baseball tournament Tuesday in Montevideo.
The Lakers had scored three runs in the top of the sixth to draw even with the Bluejays before losing in heartbreaking fashion.
Lakeview had eight hits to the Bluejays’ five. Bayley Enstad led the Lakers at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Steve Timm also had a pair of hits for the Lakers.
Randy Louwagie worked the first five innings for Lakeview and gave up four runs (three earned) on four hits with four walks and a strikeout. Jacob Nue pitched the final 1 1/3 innings.
After losing its first five games of the season, Lakeview bounced back to finish with a 5-8 record.
CMCS moves on to face Springfield at 5 p.m. Thursday in Granite Falls.

Nine runs in the fourth inning allowed New London-Spicer to blow open their Section 3AA baseball elimination game with Red Rock Central/Westbrook-Walnut Grove in Montevideo on Tuesday. New London-Spicer plated 17 runs total, going on to win 17-5 in five innings and ending the Falcons’ season in the process.
Jonny DeGeest held RRC/WWG to just two hits, but five errors by the Wildcats allowed the Falcons to score five runs.
Thomas Blomgren and Dillion Benson had the hits for the Falcons, while Tyler Martius picked up a pair of RBIs.
RRC/WWG used five pitchers who were stung for 16 hits in the five inning game. The Falcons also made four errors against New London-Spicer. Brady Bierl took the loss for RRC/WWG.
The Falcons completed the 2013 season with an overall record of 7-12.
