Tracy 16, Redwood Falls 2
Tracy VFW baseball clobbered Redwood Falls Monday night in Milroy, turning 15 hits into 16 runs in a 16-2 win in five innings.
Spencer Smith picked up the win on the mound for Tracy, giving up just one run over two innings of duty. Smith added a triple on offense as Tracy scored seven runs in the first, five in the second and added four more in the fourth.
Brady Lanoue also had a triple and mashed a double in a 2-for-2 performance. Gavin Van Moer paced the Tracy bats with a 3-for-4 game. Riley Steffes and Austin Gleis both finished the game 2-for-4 with a double. Taylor Carlson and Ben Johnson each went 2-for-4.
Tracy improves to 4-4 on the season and is back in action today for a home game against Granite Falls.

Tyler 26, Granite Falls 5
Two dozen hits carried the Tyler VFW baseball team to an impressive 26-5 road win over Granite Falls Monday night.
Tyler scored 18 runs in the first two innings alone in Granite Falls, before cooling down over the game’s final three frames.
Levi Hurst was a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate with a double for Tyler, while Steve Snow was 3-for-5 with a pair of doubles. Each of Brent Wiering’s three hits went for two bases.
Jaden Cowell added two hits, while Dain LaRock and Ryan Fischer each laced three singles in the game. Ross Johnson ended his night 4-for-5.
Brandon Verly picked up the win on the mound, shaking off a tough first inning where he allowed four runs. Verly held Granite Falls to just three hits in his four innings of work, walking six while striking out five. Snow tossed the final inning for Tyler, striking out two and surrendering a lone run.
Tyler improves to 7-6 overall and 6-5 in the district following the win and closes out its regular season with a home game on Thursday against Luverne.

Montevideo 6, Cottonwood 3
The Cottonwood Legion baseball team couldn’t find its offense until it was too late in a 6-3 loss to Montevideo Monday in Montevideo.
Cottonwood was held scoreless through the first six innings by Montevideo pitcher Jordan Thompson before striking for three runs in the top of the seventh. Thompson went the distance and held Cottonwood to six hits.
Jacob Rausch was the only Cottonwood player with a multi-hit game. He finished 2-for-3 with a double.
Randy Louwagie got the start and worked 3 1/3 innings. Montevideo took control in the third when it scored four runs. Zach Doose replaced Louwagie with one out in the fourth and pitched the rest of the way.
Cottonwood (7-8 overall) is scheduled to play Wednesday against Wabasso at Irish Yard in Milroy.
