Milroy Irish overcome errors to beat Windom

Despite committing six errors on Tuesday night, the Milroy Irish picked up a 12-8 win over the Windom Pirates in seven innings in Windom. Milroy put together two big innings, a five-run second and six-run fourth, to overcome their defensive miscues.

Isaac Dolan threw a complete game for the Irish, allowing just one earned run and seven hits with three strikeouts. Dolan also had a strong night at the plate for Milroy, finishing 2-for-4 and knocking in three runs.

Derek Riley was 3-for-4 for the Irish, driving in two runs, while Tyler Peterson had the game’s only extra-base hit with a Milroy triple.

The Irish improve to 13-10 with the win and return to action for a twin bill at Irish Yard on Saturday. First off the Irish host the Minneota Mudhens before closing out the day against Heron Lake.
