Marshall man’s death in fire ruled accidental

MARSHALL – Investigators have determined that the death of a Marshall man in a house fire on Friday was accidental. The fire is under investigation by city and county law enforcement, and the Minnesota State Fire Marshal.

Marshall Fire Chief Marc Klaith said Tuesday that a report on the incident found the death of Joshua Williams, 30, to be accidental. However, more information on the cause of the fire was not available Tuesday afternoon.

On Friday morning, the Marshall Fire Department responded to a fire reported at Williams’ home on Ranch Avenue in Marshall. When firefighters entered the house, they found Williams deceased in the basement.

Services for Williams are being held Thursday at St. Stephen Lutheran Church in Marshall.
