Dr. Michael Lee to join ACMC-Willmar

Affiliated Community Medical Center announced the hiring of a new hand surgeon, Michael Lee, M.D., who will join its team of physicians in October.

Lee graduated from the University of Maryland at College Park, where he received his electrical engineering degree. He then went on to earn his medical degree from Penn State College of Medicine in Hershey, Pa. He completed his residency in general surgery at York Hospital in York, Pa., and went on to complete his fellowship in hand surgery at Regions Hospital in St. Paul.

Lee specializes in the treatment of injuries and conditions affecting the hand, wrist, finger and forearm and will develop an upper extremity center at ACMC-Willmar. He will work closely with ACMC’s orthopedic and general surgery teams to provide immediate and specialized care for a vast-array of hand-related issues.

Frerich receives dental implant training

Dr. John Frerich of Marshall Dental Excellence attended a three-day surgical dental implant course July 28-30 at the Whitecap Institute in Heber, Utah. The course focused on surgery of the maxillary sinus, including sinus bumps and lifts to restore bone levels and anatomy after the loss of upper molars. Frerich received hands-on training in accessing and lifting sinus membranes and placement of wet bone.
