Monday’s Results

Suby State Farm, Pizza Ranch win

Eighteen runs in three innings was all that Suby State Farm needed to secure its co-rec league softball championship at the Marshall Softball Complex on Monday.

Suby State Farm scored 10 of its 18 runs in the third inning alone, hammering the Gambler for an 18-3 win.

The Gambler held off a last-ditch effort by the Gambler Groundouts to claim its spot in the final game, limiting the Groundouts to one run in the bottom of the seventh to win 9-8.

In the lower division, Pizza Ranch plated two runs in the bottom of the seventh to pick up a walk-off win and the championship, defeating Hitching Post 17-16 on Paul Redding’s two-out single.

Hitching Post previously beat Pizza Ranch 16-9, forcing the winner-take-all game.

To earn its place in the championship showdown, however, Hitching Post knocked off Sam’s Place 14-2.
