Bruns, Solheim hired at SW/WC Service Cooperative
Amber Bruns was recently hired as a behavior analyst at SW/WC Service Cooperative.
Bruns will provide behavior support services to school districts by assisting with staff training, problem solving with team members to work through child specific behavior programs, and completing functional behavior assessments.
She previously worked as a behavior analyst in a residential setting for children and adolescents and also as an independent consultant providing behavior analysis services.
She has a graduate degree in applied behavior analysis from St. Cloud State University. She will provide services in the following school districts: Canby, Lake Benton, Pipestone, Luverne, Edgerton, Adrian, Ellsworth, Worthington, Murray County Central, Fulda, Round Lake Brewster, Heron Lake Okabena, Westbrook-Walnut Grove, Milroy and Marshall.
Christine Solheim was recently hired as a school psychologist at SW/WC Service Cooperative. Solheim will focus on students who need help in the areas of education, emotions and/or social skills. She will help with assessments, interventions, education and consultation.
She previously worked as a school psychologist in school districts in rural northern Wisconsin, as well as the metro area. She has a master and specialist degree from Central Michigan University. She will be working throughout the Marshall School District.
Unemployment insurance employer seminar Sept. 12 in Marshall
An employer seminar, “Unemployment Insurance 101: “What Minnesota Employers Need to Know” will be offered on Sept. 12 in Marshall.
Unemployment program experts will provide answers to unemployment questions. Participants will learn the best practices on how to manage unemployment issues in their workplace and gain the knowledge needed to deal with unemployment issues quickly and decisively. The presenters will explain how Unemployment Insurance tax rates are determined, how an applicant’s benefits eligibility can affect a business, what can be done to prevent unnecessary charges to UI accounts and much, much more.
The session is designed for human resource professionals, business owners and managers, attorneys, accountants, consultants and others who are interested in learning about their rights and responsibilities under the Minnesota Unemployment Insurance Law.
It will also satisfy the needs of the relatively inexperienced HR employee, the veteran staffer who wants to brush up on some critical knowledge, or the business owner who simply wants more information about UI regulations.
The seminar is from 8 a.m.-noon Thursday, Sept. 12, 2nd floor of the Lyon County Government Center in Marshall.

Titan recognized with Pinnacle Award
Titan Machinery was recognized by Case IH with the Pinnacle Award for excellence in 2012.
The recognition came from criteria in five categories: Sales, marketing, parts, service and operations.
In order to receive the status, the store had to meet more than 200 criteria spanning the five categories.
Robinson attends leaders conference
Cindy Robinson, Marshall, a Modern Woodmen of America representative, recently participated in the Investment Leaders Conference at Modern Woodmen’s home office in Rock Island, Ill.
She was part of a select group of Modern Woodmen representatives invited to the investment learning event.
The conference included presentations by industry experts on the current state of the economy, financial markets outlook and managing client portfolios.
