Springfield shuts out RRC 55-0

The Springfield Tigers stifled the Red Rock Central Falcons Friday night in a Southern Minnesota Conference clash in Lamberton. The Tigers blanked the Falcons while scoring two touchdowns each quarter in a 55-0 win.

Carter Erickson accounted for three of the scores, running for two in the first quarter and throwing for one in the third.

Derek Christians had the most productive night offensively for the Falcons, rushing 12 times for 37 yards in the loss. Jordan Schroepfer added 11 carries for 23 yards.

RRC had just three passing yards for the game.

The Falcons (0-1 overall, 0-1 SMC) return to action on Sept. 7 when they travel to New Ulm to face the Cathedral Greyhounds.
