PREP FOOTBALL ROUNDUP: Rabbits explode in third quarter, beat MVL

NEW?ULM – Tanner Bock, T.J. Fulton and Caleb Kemp ran for third-quarter touchdowns as Wabasso defeated Minnesota Valley Lutheran 33-14 on Saturday.

The Rabbits and Chargers battled to a 14-all halftime tie. The deadlock was broken after intermission on a 2-yard run by Bock, a 10-yard run by Fulton and a 3-yard run by Kemp.

Bock also scored a 15-yard run in the second quarter and Caleb Salfer caught an 8-yard TD strike from Neil Eichten.

Wabasso (2-0 overall, 2-0 Southern Minnesota Conference) plays a league game at Springfield on Friday.

New Ulm Cathedral 28, Red Rock Central 12

Sam Halter scored for Red Rock Central on a 23 yard pass from Thomas Blomgren and Jordan Schroepfer added a 52-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter, but the Falcons lost 28-12 to New Ulm Cathedral in a Southern Minnesota Conference game Saturday.

WWG 38, Fulda 20

FULDA – Westbrook-Walnut Grove scored the first 26 points of the game en route to a 38-20 Southern Confederacy Conference West Division victory at Fulda on Friday.

The Chargers (2-0 overall, 2-0 SCC?West) received a pair of touchdown passes of 12 and 30 yards from Tristan Joel to Levi Bunting in the first quarter to take a 12-0 edge. Mitch Jarmer, who ran for three TDs, scored on runs of 2 and 11 yards in the second quarter to extend the WWG lead to 26-0.

After a Fulda third-quarter touchdown, Jarmer crossed the goal line for the third time in the game, this one coming from 4 yards out. WWG led 32-6 in the fourth quarter before Anthony Koch ran for a 4-yard touchdown.

The Chargers travel to play Southern Confederacy Conference crossover foe Nicollet (2-0) on Friday.
