NCAA CROSS COUNTRY: Mustangs compete at Roy Griak Invitational

FALCON HEIGHTS – The Southwest Minnesota State women’s and men’s cross country teams competed at the Roy Griak Invitational hosted by the University of Minnesota at Les Bolstad Golf Course in Falcon Heights on Saturday.

The SMSU men’s team finished 27th out of 40 teams in the 8k race, while the Mustang women’s team earned a 29th place finish out of 32 teams in the 6k race.

Trent Smith led the Mustang men with a 52nd place with a time of 26 minutes and 40 seconds. O.J. Ojulla finished in 138th place with a time of 27:43, while Alejandro Sanchez recorded a 171st place time of 28:25.

On the women’s side, Amanda Grengs posted a team-best 25:52 to earn 138th place. Paige Yi finished with a time of 25:59 to earn a 145th place finish, while Tatum Larson finished 149th with a time of 26:07.

Both SMSU squads return to action Friday, competing at the South Dakota State Classic in Brookings, S.D.
