PREP VOLLEYBALL: Minneota tops Windom Area

WINDOM – Class A No. 3-ranked Minneota completed its regular season with a road sweep of Windom Area 25-16, 25-19, 25-15 on Thursday.

Taylor Reiss sparked the Vikings (25-3 overall) with 20 kills, 19 digs and a 12 of 13 effort from the serving line that produced a pair of aces. She also chipped in a block.

Molly Hennen added 16 digs, 12 kills and connected on all 14 of her serves.

“Our serving was pretty good,” Minneota head coach Stephanie Hennen said. “We only missed four serves all night. I also liked the way we played defense.”

Shelby Corbin had two aces after a 16 of 16 effort in serving. She added 14 digs, five kills and a block.

Megan Larson set up 36 assists, had a block and went 11 of 11 with a pair of aces at the serving line.

The Vikings are idle until next Friday, when Minneota plays in the quarterfinal round of the Class A Section 3 Tournament at Southwest Minnesota State University.
