PREP FOOTBALL: Elks win playoff game

ELKTON, S.D. – The Elkton-Lake Benton football team defeated Parker 35-18 in the first round of the Class 9AA football playoffs on Tuesday in Elkton (S.D.).

The Elks were led by Heath Schindler’s two touchdowns, one running and one on a pass from Trevan Farnham. Farnham and Schindler also connected on a two-point conversion.

Kicker Andrew Kirschenman was three-for-three on extra points and hit field goals of 20 and 35 yards in the win. Nathan Krog and Jose Flores scored the two other E-LB touchdowns, on an interception and run, respectively.

The Elks (7-2) will be in action again on Monday when they hit the road to face either Arlington or Deubrook Area in the Quarterfinal Round of playoffs.
