Faith in action for Nov. 8

St. Stephen Lutheran Church

On Thursday, Oct. 31, St. Stephen Lutheran Church hosted our second annual Trunk or Treat event. Trunk or Treat is an opportunity for trick-or-treaters to walk around a well-lit parking lot, collecting candy from decorated car trunks. A great time was had by participants and hosts alike! The event was put on by middle school students in our confirmation ministry, and other members of our congregation offered support in a variety of ways.

Thank you to all of the community members who attended Trunk or Treat and brought along a non-perishable food item to donate. Thank you to all of the St. Stephen confirmation students who made Trunk or Treat possible and thank you to church members who donated candy, volunteered at the event and gave use of their car trunks to be decorated for the evening.

In just over an hour, we collected 246 pounds of food to donate to the Kitchen Table Food Shelf of Marshall. We are so grateful for the support we were able to give to the Food Shelf through this event. One of the most exciting parts of Trunk or Treat was the message that having fun and helping others are not mutually exclusive. Serving other people can go hand in hand with fun!
