EAGAN – Mass of Christian Burial for Daniel Mead, 52, of Eagan will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Canby. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday at Birk Funeral Home in Canby, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. and a rosary to follow. Visitation will continue from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, followed by procession to the church. Burial will be at St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery.
He died Monday, Nov. 25, 2013, at his home.
Dan was born Sept. 23, 1961, in Canby to Warren and Helen (Marczak) Mead. He was raised in Canby where he graduated from high school. He then moved to Moorhead, where he earned his degree in graphic design, which led him to the Minneapolis/St. Paul area, working as a graphic artist.
Dan was united in marriage to Phyllis Rego on June 22, 2002. They made their home in Eagan, where he enjoyed time spent with his stepchildren and grandchild. He also loved spending time with his family and friends fishing, camping, and golfing.
Dan is survived by his wife, Phyllis; stepchildren Josh and Jessica; grandson Calvin, mother Helen; 11 siblings, Sharon (and Marc) Ratajczak, Roger (and Judy), Rose (and Les) Lange, Larry (and Loretta), Gerald (and Barb), Duane (and Deb), Mary (and Dale) Rood, Barb (and Dennis) Lorenzen, Rick (and Laura), Bruce (and Nancy), Mick (and Sandy); and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father Warren, his grandparents, and his faithful companion Alex, his Brittany Spaniel.
