BOYS HOCKEY: Kennedy tops Marshall at Schwan Cup

BLAINE – The Marshall Tigers lost 6-2 against Bloomington Kennedy in the semifinals of the Schwan Cup open division tournament Friday in Blaine.

Derek Rasmussen recorded the first goal for Marshall to cut the Bloomington Kennedy lead down to 2-1 in the first period. Brent Haukom scored on a power play in the second period to even the score, but the Eagles rallied to earn four more goals to win the contest.

Marshall goalie contributed 13 saves.

The Tigers will play for third place against Spring Lake Park at 6 p.m. today.
