BOYS HOCKEY: Cardinals blank Tigers in SWC contest

LUVERNE – After a 1-2 finish at the Schwan Cup, the Marshall boys hockey team found itself on the wrong end of a Southwest Conference match-up with Luverne on Thursday.

The Tigers fell to the Cardinals for the second time this season, dropping the road game 0-3.

Marshall allowed one goal in the first and two in the second before shutting Luverne out in the third, but they were unable to make up ground despite out-shooting the Cardinals in the third.

Marshall goalie Mason Campion stopped 26 of the 29 shots Luverne attempted in the loss.

The Tigers will be in action again on Tuesday when they travel to Worthington and attempt to stop a three-game skid.
