Courts for Feb. 1

MARSHALL – Brian James Bresson, 27, of Granite Falls, pleaded guilty in Lyon County District Court Jan. 28 to charges of second degree driving while impaired, court records said. Bresson drove with an alcohol level of .12 in Cottonwood on Oct. 6, court records said. Bresson was sentenced to one year in jail, with 275 days stayed and three years probation, with conditions including serve 90 days in jail with credit for 18 days already served, obtain a chemical use assessment and abide by laws. Additional charges of second degree driving while impaired were dismissed.

MARSHALL – Thomas Wayne Anderson, 45, of Marshall, appeared in Lyon County District Court Jan. 28 on charges of ineligible possession of a firearm, second degree controlled substance crime, fourth degree controlled substance crime, fifth degree controlled substance crime and possession of drug paraphernalia. A complaint alleges Anderson possessed a handgun and rifles after prior convictions, and possessed drugs in Lyon County on Jan. 16. A hearing was set for Feb. 25.

MARSHALL – Nathan Thomas Jacob, 24, of Marshall appeared in Lyon County District Court Jan. 28 on charges of third degree criminal sexual conduct. A complaint alleges Jacob sexually assaulted a woman in Lyon County on March 23. A trial date was set for April 2-4, and a pretrial hearing was set for March 25.
