Heemeyer elected to United Way state board of directors

Marcy Heemeyer, executive director of the United Way of Southwest Minnesota, was elected to the United Ways of Minnesota state board of directors at its winter meeting Jan. 23.

The United Ways of Minnesota provide a variety of services, including consultation, public policy monitoring, state campaign relations, campaign support, opportunities for networking, staff and board training and statewide conferences and trainings.

Heemeyer has been the executive director of the United Way of Southwest Minnesota, which serves Lincoln, Lyon, Murray, Yellow Medicine and western Redwood counties, since February 2013.

Goedtke named as member of financial professional council

Carla AE Goedtke, RFC, CSA with offices in Marshall and Slayton, was named as a member of the Prudential Annuities Masters Council. Goedtke is a representative of American Portfolios Financial Services Inc. Goedtke is a registered representative offering securities through American Portfolios Financial Services, Inc.

The Prudential Annuities Masters Council is a program that recognizes the achievements of outstanding financial professionals within the area of retirement income planning. Prudential Annuities Masters Council members receive exclusive access to a variety of special services to help them better serve their clients as they prepare for retirement.

Verly new hire at Hoffman & Brobst

Hoffman & Brobst, PLLP announces the addition of Brad Verly to its accounting staff.

Verly is a Marshall native and a 2011 graduate of St. John’s University, with a degree in accounting.

He is involved in the accounting, audit and income tax areas of the firm’s practice.
