MARSHALL – Mass of Christian Burial for Rada Mitchell, 89, of Marshall, will be at 2 p.m. on Monday at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Marshall. Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Sunday with a CCW Rosary at 4 p.m. at Rehkamp-Horvath Funeral Home in Marshall. Visitation will continue from noon-1:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
Rada died Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2014, at the Avera Marshall Healthcare Center in Marshall.
Rada Marie (Lanoue) Mitchell was born June 4, 1924, in Marshall, to Eldred and Jeanette (Boudreau) Lanoue. She grew up in Marshall and was baptized, received first communion and confirmed at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. On Nov. 10, 1947, she was united in marriage to Charles Mitchell at Holy Redeemer. The couple lived in Marshall and Rada worked as a telephone operator and later for Kelco for a number of years. She enjoyed playing bingo and working on crafts. Rada and Charles also enjoyed spending time at their lake home up north.
Survivors include her brother, Leroy Lanoue of Alexandria and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Charles and brothers Merlin and Arnold Lanoue.
