NCAA TRACK AND FIELD: Sanchez, Schneider lead Mustangs at NSIC Indoor

EMIDJI – The Southwest Minnesota State University indoor track and field teams concluded the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Indoor Championships on Saturday with a strong showing.

Alejandro Sanchez finished second in the 800-meter with a personal-best and NCAA provisional time of 1:53.75.

Jay Schneider’s 7.11-second run in the 60-meter was good enough for fifth place at the event.

O.J. Ojullu finished the 600-meter in 1:23.40 on Saturday, placing seventh.

The men’s 4×400 relay team finished with a time of 3:24.13. That time gave Austin LaFollette, O.J. Ojullu, Alejandro Sanchez and Chris Kveseth a fifth-place finish.

On the women’s side, Rylee Armstrong finished ninth in the triple jump with a jump of 35-6 1/2.
