DAWSON – Services for Michael Anyasike, of Dawson, 18, will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Grace Lutheran Church in Dawson. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday at Grace Lutheran Church in Dawson with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Hanson & Dahl Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. He died Sunday, March 9, 2014, at the Madison Hospital in Madison.
Michael Chinedu Anyasike was born Feb. 4, 1996, in Almaty, Kazakhstan, the son of Michael K. and Irene (John) Anyasike. He moved with his family to the United States in 2004. They settled in Tulsa, Okla., before moving to Dawson in 2007. Michael played basketball when he was younger, was a sprinter in track, but his main sport was football. He also went on mission trips with his church and his family.
He is survived by his parents, Michael and Irene; a sister, Faith; two brothers: Joseph and Joshua; his grandparents: John and Freda Mkiramweni in Tanzania and Faith Anyasike in Nigeria; aunts and uncles: Kingsley and Kelechi, Helen, Emmanuel and Onyii, Ellen and Steve, Peter and Kharies, Lillian, David and Monique; and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents: Mark and Evelyn, John and Monu, William and Elangwa, and Peter and Sarah; and his grandfather, Marcus Anyasike.
