MARSHALL – Services for Lillian E. Folkerts, 82, of Marshall will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Marshall. Lillian will be interred beside her husband at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Ore. at a later date.
She died Monday, March 17, 2014, at her residence.
Lillian was born April 9, 1931, to Peter H. and Pearl M. (Christianson) Kosberg in Hendricks. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Free Church. She graduated from Hendricks High School in 1949. Lillian is a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
She and Ted H. Folkerts were married in 1950. Together they spent a life in the Air Force, making their home wherever they were stationed, from Spain and Germany to stateside bases. She enjoyed making new friends and taking care of her family. She also enjoyed playing cards, crocheting and her activities with church and school.
Survivors include her children, Rodney (and Diane) Folkerts of Rapid City, S.D., Sheila (and Mike) Anderson of Freeport, Maine, and Sonja (and Bob) Ransom of Vancouver, Wash.; grandchildren, Michael (and Carrie) Anderson, Gregory (and Heather) Ransom, Rachel Ransom and Cristopher Ransom; great-grandchildren, Endre and Lars Anderson and Jordan Ransom; sister, Anne Rockman of Marshall, sister-in-law Arlene Kosberg of Sioux Falls, S.D.; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
Lillian leaves her special friends of Hill Street Place and Vancouver, Wash.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years; parents; brothers, Harvey Kosberg of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Peder (and Evelyn) Kosberg of Mankato; sisters, Rae (and Erwin) Christianson of Missoula, Mont., Janyce (and Don) Bylander of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Joyce (and Bob) English of Anchorage, Alaska; and brother-in-law, Orville Rockman of Marshall.
