NCAA WOMEN'S GOLF: Mustangs finish 15th at shortened MWSU Invitational
ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – The Southwest Minnesota State women’s golf team battled cold temperatures on Sunday recording a score of 376 to finish in 15th place at the 16-team Missouri Western State Invite at the St. Joseph Country Club on Sunday.
Sunday’s opening round was halted due to darkness and completed on Monday morning in snowy conditions. Due to the weather, Monday’s final round was canceled.
Arkansas Tech was crowned the champion with a score of 311, 11 shots better than second place Central Oklahoma (322). Arkansas Tech’s Rebecka Surtevall and Megan Jeffery earned co-medalist honors with a 3-over-par 75.
For the Mustangs, Rachel Patnoe and Dana Wagner both shot rounds of 21-over-par 93 to finish tied for 53rd, while Marissa Campeau, Becky Koepp and Abby Gruber each recorded scores of 23-over 95 to tie for 60th place. Megan Will competing as an individual shot a 22-over 94 to tie for 57th.
Southwest Minnesota State returns to action on April 12-13 at the Augustana Invite at Prairie Green Golf Club in Sioux Falls, S.D.
