Crime/accidents for April 9
MARSHALL – A black and white husky-type dog was taken to the animal impound in an animal complaint incident reported at 9:05 p.m. Monday on the 1400 block of East Lyon Street, Marshall Police said.
MARSHALL – A Marshall boy, 6, was bitten by a dog in an incident reported at 9:01 p.m. Monday on the 400 block of Jewett Street, Marshall Police said. The boy was treated at the hospital for injuries, and the dog was quarantined, Police said.
MARSHALL – A Marshall man, 21, was cited for possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia in an incident reported at 8:32 p.m. Monday near Lake Marshall, the Lyon County Sheriff’s Department said.
MINNEOTA – A suspicious incident was reported at 6:41 p.m. Monday, Minneota Police said. No further information was available.
MARSHALL – A criminal sexual conduct incident reported at 1:38 p.m. Monday on the 500 block of East Main Street is under investigation, Marshall Police said.
MARSHALL – A juvenile matter reported at 12:44 p.m. Monday was handled by Human Services, Marshall Police said.
MINNEOTA – A suspicious vehicle was reported at 12:03 p.m. Monday, Minneota Police said. No further information was available.
RUSSELL – Two people were injured when a hay bale came loose from a vehicle traveling on Minnesota Highway 23 at 8:51 p.m. Monday, the Minnesota State Patrol said. A 2005 Dodge driven by Shannon Buchert of Russell was southbound on Highway 23 when a hay bale came loose and struck a northbound 2012 Kia driven by Stacy Allen of Marshall, the State Patrol said. Stacy Allen and Kimberly Allen of Gilbert, a passenger in the Kia, were both taken to Avera Marshall Regional Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries, the State Patrol said. A second passenger in the Kia, Phillip Allen of Gilbert, had no apparent injuries, the State Patrol said.
MARSHALL – A 2010 Chevrolet driven by a Marshall woman, 76, and a 2012 Kia driven by a Marshall woman, 19, both received light damage in a property damage accident reported at 10:11 a.m. Monday on East College Drive, Marshall Police said.
