PREP SPORTS ROUNDUP: NCR Area Championships this weekend
EDINA – More than 825 junior girls volleyball teams will be competing within nine different cities across Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota for the North Country Region Volleyball Area Championships.
Play begins at 8 a.m. Saturday with teams in age divisions 12 and 14 participating. On Sunday, teams in age divisions 15 and 18 will competing.
Tournament host cities include Bemidji; Duluth; Fargo/Moorhead; Huron, SD; Jamestown, ND; Marshall/Redwood Falls; Redwood Falls; Rochester; and St. Cloud. This is the 12th year for the Area Championships in this current format.
The event is free to all spectators.
The Marshall/Redwood Falls area has been a location in the championships since 2002. Venues include Parkside Elementary School in Marshall, Lakeview High School in Cottonwood, Southwest Minnesota State University’s R/A Facility and P.E. Gym in Marshall and Marshall Middle School.
NCR Area Championships are organized by North Country Region Volleyball.
