Sunny days and possibilities

Community Transit offers youth rides and a rewarding volunteer opportunity

Now that spring is finally appearing, people are ready to get out and moving. To keep up with the needs of people in our area, Community Transit of Western Community Action is offering an unlimited ride pass to youth ages 3-18. Community Transit is also seeking volunteer drivers throughout Southwest Minnesota to provide rides when the buses are not available.

The $30 unlimited monthly ride card from Community Transit is a great option for parents who are feeling the stress of getting their kids to various summer activities.

Thanks to generous donations, just $30 can get youth ages 3-18 to their favorite summer hangouts for an entire month. Along with convenience and cost effectiveness, parents get the security of knowing that Community Transit drivers will wait to be sure children are safely received at their destination before leaving.

Community Transit is about more than buses.

In this rural area, volunteers provide an essential link connecting people who don’t drive to the services and activities they need to live happy, full lives. Volunteers use their own vehicles and are reimbursed mileage. Anyone who likes to drive and wants to help others should contact Community Transit for more information about becoming a volunteer driver.

Community Transit is excited to add the hum of engines to the buzz of excitement that warm weather brings. Check out www.wcainc.org/transit or call 537-7628 to find out about all the opportunities available through Community Transit.
