PREP BASEBALL ROUNDUP: Tigers sweep Huskies
JACKSON – Marshall picked up two more wins Southwest Conference against Jackson County Central Thursday.
The Tigers won the first game 12-2 and the second game 14-7.
In Game 1, Noah Winkleman cashed in two doubles and four RBI to go with three doubles from Brent Andries and Riley Sharbono. Sharbono walked away with one RBI. Drew Hmielewski went 4-for-5 from the plate and had three RBI and scored three runs. Derek Rasmussen also recorded an RBI in game one.
Carl Douglas earned the win in game one, striking out four and walking two in his seven innings of work.
In Game 2, Jack Bock had a breakout game with a season-high four-RBI game as he went 2-for-3 form the plate. Noah Winkleman added three RBI to his total and Connor Winkleman added one RBI. Noah Winkleman, Bock and Andries doubled in the game.
Connor Winkleman picked up the win on the mound, striking out four and walking seven. He was relieved by Adam Kovash after four and two thirds inings. Kovash allowed three hits and two runs, while walking two. Marshall improves to 15-4 on the season and finishes the regular season at Pipestone on Monday.
Marshall coach Chace Pollock knows his team is going to have to brign their best effort against Pipestone Area. The Tigers beat the Arrows earlier this season.
“We are going to have to play very well to beat Pipestone,” Pollock said. “If we get a win, we are going to have at least a share of the conference title, so it’s a big game. We feel very good about where were at right now.”
Canby 11, D-B 1, 5 innings
DAWSON – The Canby Lancers defeated Dawson-Boyd 11-1 in five innings Thursday.
The Lancers were led by Christian Full, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs scored.
Kristian Leppke added a home run on a 2-for-3 day at the plate. He also drove in three runs and scored one.
Zach Nuy pitched all five innings for Canby, allowing one run on five hits, striking out seven Blackjack batters.

Tracy-Milroy-Balaton 3, Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg 1
TRACY – Tracy-Milroy-Balaton edged Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunberg 3-1 in a Camden Conference game Thursday.
The Panthers received an RBI from Brady Lanoue, who tripled in the game. Ben Johnson and Taylor Carlson also recorded RBI for TMB.
Brandin Dahl drove in the lone run for KMS, scoring Ryan Hatlestad, who tripled.
Spencer Smith pitched for the win for the Panthers. He struck out 12 while walking just three and allowed three hits.
Nathan Torkelson suffered the loss, walking four while striking out three in the game.
TMB improved to 5-7 this season and will host Minneota/Lincoln HI today at 7 p.m.

Renville County West 7, Lakeview 3
RENVILLE – Lakeview lost a 7-3 Camden Conference decision against Renville County West on Thursday.
Jacob Rausch finished 2-for-3 and had an RBI for Lakeview, while Seth Boerboom recorded an RBI on a sacrifice fly.
Zach Doose, who was the Lakers’ starting pitcher, gave up seven runs (five earned) on five hits and four walks in 2 2/3 innings. He was relieved by Jacob Nue, who pitched 3 1/3 innings of shutout baseball, while striking out one, walking one and allowing one hit.
Lakeview improved to 5-3 this season and is scheduled to play Central Minnesota Christian and Heritage Christian on Saturday in a split doubleheader.

TYLER – Lac qui Parle Valley squeaked by Russell-Tyler-Ruthton on Thursday, winning 1-0 on an RBI double from Ty Kanstrup in the fourth inning.
The Eagles also received a single from Dillon Lillejord and Joey Devorak.
Mitch Hurst, Dain LaRock, Mason LaRock, Will Petersen and Brent Wiering all recorded singles for the Knights.
Garrett Olson pitched the complete-game shutout for Lac qui Parle Valley, striking out six and allowing six hits while walking one.
Alex Schwing took the pitching loss for the Knights. He struck out five while allowing three hits and no walks.
LQPV improved to 12-4 this season and will host Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunberg at 2:30 p.m. today. Russell-Tyler-Ruthton fell to 2-7 and will host Red Rock Central/Westbrook-Walnut Grove on Tuesday.

DAWSON – Peyton Nuy threw a one-hit shutout to help Minneota/Lincoln HI defeat Dawson-Boyd 13-0 in five innings.
Jordan Beck and Austin Buysse each delivered strong offensive performances. Buysse went 2-for-3 with a double and three RBI, while Jordan Beck added a RBI on 2-for-3 at the plate.
