PIPESTONE – Services for Joseph W. Slinger, 92, of Pipestone will be at 10:30 a.m. today at St. Leo’s Catholic Church in Pipestone. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. A luncheon will be served immediately following the service in the church social hall, with burial to take place following the luncheon, at St. Martin’s Catholic Cemetery in Woodstock. The Almlie Funeral Home of Tracy is handling the arrangements.
He died Thursday, May 22, 2014, at the Pipestone County Medical Center.
He was born Nov. 27, 1921, to Henry and Elizabeth (Bult) Slinger on the family farmstead near Woodstock, in Chanarambie Township.
He is survived by his wife, Rose of Pipestone; two daughters, Bibianna Fehring of Shakopee, and Joanne Petersen of Hardwick; two sons, Gregory of Cabool, Mo. and Larry of Pipestone; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four sisters, Agnes Chapman, Helen Burkard, Margaret Slinger and Betty Staab; two brothers, Henry and Bernard; nieces and nephews.
