Rose Ellen Huso
COTTONWOOD – Mass of Christian Burial for Rose Ellen Huso, 79, of Cottonwood will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Cottonwood. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at the church with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. A private family burial will take place at a later date.
She died Saturday, May 31, 2014, at the Minneota Manor in Minneota.
Rose Ellen Huso was born July 1, 1934, to Henry and Leona (VanOverbeke) Rogge in Ghent, Lyon County. She was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith, and graduated from Marshall Public Schools. Rose was united in marriage to Joseph C. Johns and to this union five children were born. They made their home on a farm near Tracy where she helped with farming and raising her children. She worked for Hedlers Red Owl in Tracy for a few years and started her own commercial and house cleaning business called “Have Vac Will Travel.” Rose met and married Arnie Williams and worked as a truck driver for Floyd Wild Trucking in Marshall. On Feb. 24, 1996, Rose married Lyle Huso at the English Lutheran Church in Cottonwood where they also made their home. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Cottonwood. Rose enjoyed flower gardening, interior decorating, refinishing furniture, camping, deer hunting, loved her dogs, and spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband; Lyle, of Cottonwood; children; Gary (and Jolynn) Johns of Tracy, Deb (and the late Duane) Thorpe of Hutchinson, Bradley (and Tricia) Johns of Marshall, Kelly Johns of Clarkfield, and LoAnn “Loie” (and Tim) Dale of Clarkfield; siblings; Avon Hess of Marshall, Mary Lou Michelson of Cottonwood, Ronald Rogge of Lynd and Donald Rogge of Albuquerque, N.M.; 17 grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers and one sister.
