Courts for June 9

MARSHALL – Michelle Cathleen Holter, 38, of Balaton, appeared in Lyon County District Court June 4 on two counts of first degree driving while impaired charges, three counts of criminal vehicular injury charges and driving after cancellation – inimical to public safety charges. A complaint alleges Holter drove while impaired in Lyon County on March 14, which led to a one-vehicle crash that injured her passenger. A hearing was set for June 17. Bail was set at $20,000 without conditions, or with conditions including appear in court, abide by laws and abstain from alcohol and drugs.

MARSHALL – Wendell Buck Burnett, 20, of Lynd, appeared in Lyon County District Court June 4 on charges of check forgery – liability for crimes of another. A complaint alleges Burnett or an accomplice wrote a false check on another person’s account in Marshall on Jan. 25. A hearing was set for June 17. Bail was set at $5,000 without conditions, or with conditions including appear in court, abide by laws, abstain from alcohol and drugs and be subject to random testing.

MARSHALL – Phillip Michael Smith, 26, of Marshall, appeared in Lyon County District Court June 4 on charges of theft and check forgery – liability for crimes of another. A complaint alleges Smith or an accomplice stole blank checks and wrote a false check on another person’s account in Marshall on Jan. 25. A hearing was set for June 17. Bail was set at $5,000 without conditions, or with conditions including appear in court, abide by laws, abstain from alcohol and drugs and be subject to random testing.

MARSHALL – Kathryn Louise Hill, 31, of Marshall, appeared in Lyon County District Court June 4 on charges of third degree driving while impaired. A complaint alleges Hill drove under the influence of amphetamines in Marshall on March 26 and had a prior DWI in 2013. A hearing was set for June 17. Bail was set at $6,000 without conditions, or with conditions including appear in court, abide by laws, abstain from alcohol and drugs and be subject to random testing.

MARSHALL – Tony Jason Eriksen, 36, of Morgan, appeared in Lyon County District Court June 4 on charges of first degree attempted arson, second degree attempted arson and second degree burglary. A complaint alleges Eriksen placed flammable materials inside the baseboard heaters of a Lyon County residence on March 13, 2011. A hearing was set for June 17.
