TYLER?- Mass of Christian Burial for Vaughn Lingen, 82, of Tyler will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Martin Catholic Church in Woodstock. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., all at St. Martin Catholic Church. Visitation will continue one hour prior to Mass at church. Burial will be at St. Martin Catholic Cemetery in Woodstock. Arrangements are provided by Hartquist Funeral Home in Tyler.

He died Friday, June 6, 2014, at the Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, S.D.

He was born Feb. 18, 1932, to Alfred and Rose (McLain) Lingen at Currie. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1953 during the Korean Conflict. He was stationed in San Francisco, Calif., served as a cook, attained the rank of sergeant and was honorably discharged in 1955.

Survivors include his wife, Bess of Tyler; seven children, Pat of Edgerton, Penny Veitch of Longmont, Colo., Tim of Lake Benton, Randy of Balaton, Janelle Einck of Iona, Rick of Woodstock, and Greg of Beaver Creek; 25 grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; siblings, Peg Splett of Plymouth, Raymond of Holland, Richard of Jasper, Avis Laurent of Hamil, and Roger of Hamil; many nieces and nephews.
