AMATEUR BASEBALL ROUNDUP: Yankees shut out Kilowatts

GRANITE FALLS –

The Milroy Yankees defeated the Granite Falls Kilowatts 4-0 Sunday night behind a three-hit shutout from Nate Deutz.

Eric Dolan went 3-for-4 with a RBI to lead the Yankees in the win. Chris Verdoes added two more RBI while Andy Schmidt went 2-for-4 from the plate.

The Yankees will travel to Spicer on Wednesday night to face the New London-Spicer Twins, with first pitch set for 7:30 p.m.

Hadley 7,

Lakefield 1

The Hadley Buttermakers used a strong offensive performance and tough pitching to defeat Lakefield 7-1 in Sunday night baseball action.

Nate Wieneke went 2-for-2 with two RBI and two runs, while Chris Halbur went 2-for-3 with a RBI and run scored to pace the Buttermakers.

Justin Reinsma gave a strong performance from the mound in the win. He allowed just four hits and one unearned run in the victory.

The Buttermakers will play at Lamberton on Tuesday night, with first pitch scheduled for 8 p.m.

Milroy Irish 8,

Martin County 1

Isaac Dolan picked up the complete game win on the mound, striking out four while Dominic Dolan, Tyler Peterson and Anthony Dolan all had two hits.

Peterson and Dominic Dolan each scored three runs.

Fairmont 1

Tyler Peterson pitched the full nine innings for the win, striking out two while allowing just four hits.

Dakota Freiborg and Dominic Dolan each had two hits.

The Irish move to 9-4 overall and 6-3 in the Gopher League.

Minneota 14,

Hancock 7

Minneota secured a 14-7 victory over Hancock on Sunday to move to 3-3 on the season after a 4-2 win over Ortonville on Saturday.

Beau Buysse had three RBI in the 14-7 win over Hancock to go with three from Tyson Sonnenburg and two each from Austin Buysse and Alec Engler.

Derrick Buysse picked up the win on the mound with one strikeout and one walk.
