Tiger golf rakes in awards

MARSHALL – Both the Marshall boys and girls golf teams held their awards banquet Thursday night as part of a night to honor boys golf coach Allen Lucht, who retired after six seasons.

There were plenty of awards to go around on both the boys and girls side.

The Marshall girls recorded five invite wins this season while winning the Southwest Conference and took second place at the section meet, losing by just one stroke to Jackson County Central.

Including the junior varsity, the girls side had sixteen players achieve a 3.0 grade point average or higher.

Sarah Vogl was voted an honorable mention All-Conference Member while Jessica Blanchard and Hannah Peterson were both named All-Conference players.

Peterson was the girls varsity MVP.

Matt Bennett took home the MVP award on the boys side while he shared both the lowest nine-hole and lowest 18-hole round of the year with Brent Haukom.

Blanchard and Peterson had the lowest nine and 18-hole rounds respectively for the girls team.

Peterson qualified for the All-State team with her performance this season.

The boys team was the only team in school history to go undefeated.
