Larry Bauer

SPIRIT LAKE, Iowa -Services for Larry Lyn Bauer, 56, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church in Spirit Lake. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Schuchert Funeral Home in Spirit Lake, Iowa.

He died Thursday, June 19, 2014, in Arnold, Mo., due to a traffic accident.

He was born May 26, 1958, in Sac City, Iowa, to Lawrence and Adah (Hutchinson) Bauer.

Larry graduated from Spirit Lake High school in 1976. He worked as a bricklayer and Stylecraft in Milford for several years. In 2002, Larry moved to Marshall, where he and Elaine made their home. He was united in marriage to Elaine Galbraith on Jan. 20, 2005, in Marshall.

Larry began professional truck driving in 1998, with his sidekick and best friend, Mark Baschke. He worked for Eickhoff Enterprises in Marshall, Minnesota, for the past 12 years. Larry received the Professional Safe Driving Award and was conscientious, cautious and a valued driver to their team.

Larry enjoyed spending his spare time camping, fishing, hunting and working on cars. He spoke of fond memories of hunting and fishing with his brothers and brothers-in-law. Larry will always be remembered as a loving husband, son, father, stepfather, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend!

Larry is survived by his wife, Elaine Galbraith-Bauer of Marshall; mother, Adah Bauer of Spirit Lake, Iowa; children, Misty (Troy) Fisk of Jackson, Bobby Goforth of Rochester, Andrea (Kory) Bailey of Hickory, N.C., Bryan Galbraith of Spirit Lake, Iowa, and Daniel Galbraith of Virginia Beach, Va.; siblings, Jean Ann (Max) Orth of Sac City, Iowa, Jim (Ann) Bauer of Lake Park, Iowa, Kathy (Mike) Harmelink of Cherokee, Iowa, Ruth (Jim) Tendal of Superior, Iowa, Peggy (Steve) Levi of Spirit Lake, Iowa, and Gary Bauer of Spirit Lake, Iowa; grandchildren, Krystalyn Murphy, Bobbi Murphy, Wayne Fisk, Hope Fisk, McKenna Goforth, Jacob Goforth, Parker Bailey, Elliot Bailey and Isabella Bailey; and many loved and admired nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father; his brother, Edward Hutchinson; and brother-in-law, Max Orth.
