Marshall students graduate from SCTCC
St. Cloud Technical and Community College celebrates the graduation of the following Marshall students for the spring 2014 semester: Nikitta Clark, associate in applied science degree in legal administrative assistant; Jordan Marron, diploma in electrical construction technology; Joseph Stuart, diploma in electrical construction technology; and Mike Vlaminck, diploma in electrical construction technology, academic honors.

St. Cloud State University graduated more than 1,350 students during spring semester 2014. Commencement ceremonies took place May 10 at Halenbeck Hall.

Deutz named to dean’s list at Drake
Eric Deutz of Marshall was named to the Drake University dean’s list for the spring 2014 semester. Students must achieve a grade point average of 3.5 or above to earn this honor.

The dean’s list recognizes full-time students who have a minimum of 12 credit hours with grade point averages at 3.5 or above.
Brummond (Carrow) receives award
Dr. Alissa Brummond, the daughter of Richard and Jolene Carrow of Marshall, has received the 2014 LeeAnn McCaffrey, M.D. Women in Medicine Award from the Mayo School of Graduate Medical Education. Only one female resident each year is honored with this award, which recognizes excellence in the Internal Medicine Residency Program.
Brummond is a 2011 graduate of the University of Minnesota School of Medicine, Duluth campus.
She plans to complete her three-year internal medicine residency at Mayo Clinic in June. She plans to start a career as an internist in Sioux Falls, S.D.
