The “Summer Spotlight” section runs weekly and features upcoming festivals going on around the area.

Today: Vesta’s River Daze and All-Fest in Wabasso.

River Run kicks off fun in Vesta

Vesta’s 2014 River Daze festival starts on Friday and runs through the weekend.

The traditional River Run sparks the beginning of the fest, with options of a 2K, 5K and 10K. Karaoke, a water fight and a free street dance are a few more activities taking place during the three-day festival.

There will also be garage sales held during the entire weekend.

The Wabasso Lion’s 9th annual All-Fest kicks off on Friday night. Events include medallion hunts, a raffle, street dance and the Wabasso Lions beer and drink garden, plus much more. All events will be held on the community center grounds in Wabasso, and all proceeds will be donated to fund future Lions projects.
